Logline

Hundreds of years into our future, where sun radiation kills everything, two different types of humans go to unbearable lengths to either fight for their life or identity.

Synopsis

We follow the story of an unnamed male character, living in a no man’s land, an utterly devastated environment, and a world of a bygone era. He seems normal enough for the place he’s forced to live in, however, we don’t know much about his past, supposedly he was born into that world.
We see the nomadic life that the character lives by, and slowly understand his habit of “knowledge and seeing” despite all atrocities. While we don’t hear much, if at all, from him, and that is mainly because he doesn’t know much of our old world languages… we perceive many emotions and hints of his inner self.
Living in a desolate solemn world, he encounters another sub-human which reflects a lot of his distant human notions and dreams.

Director's Statement

What is the fate of human cognition?.. this question, which has been an old-age endeavor with humanity for a long time, is one of the most important ideas that we can talk about as a group or as an individual. “YESOD” is a story that contains many aspects that entail, philosophically or socially, the current and future human journey.
The film deals with a hypothetical condition where we see people within a different era, not a modern or advanced one in the known sense. In this period of time human beings – as well as many animals and creatures – have decayed and no longer exist, due to a radical change in the correlation between our planet and the influence of the sun’s different UV radiation which has become in some way a near-lethal and a life destroyer.
We see in this drama a vivid picture of the primitive and cruel life that a person lives in that futile environment, with all its details and complexity.
We also see the world from the perspective of ethnic/naturalism and how any being can live within this world where terms such as survival, justice, and freedom can actually be convoluted there.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
